In this video Apple unveils new technology and essentially a new way of learning for students. 2-D illustrations are now interactive videos. Lessons now can be instantly written and cutomized by the teacher for the student to access. History comes alive and engages students in a whole new way.
However, you have to feel for the kids who still use old-school textbooks. Studying hard, schlepping heavy bookbags, fumbling around with pads of paper and cumbersome pencils. Now they’re getting made fun of by Apple.
Ironic, huh - 40 year-old software engineers think they’re dorky.
And I was a little surprised with all the shots Apple was taking at the textbook. Especially when the Apple folks call textbooks "expensive" and "immediately outdated". Uh, ever owned an Apple computer? Pot, meet kettle.
Poor textbook. We will miss you. Tell the record album and land-line phone we said hi.
